Describe your project idea including: a) Is it a project or event? b) What will you do? c) Where will you do it? d) Who, if any, are your project partners?

Provide backpacks and school supplies to kids and teenagers in need, this will be done at the Joseph Walker Williams Center

How will you engage your community in this project?

MDCC, will continue working with the Manager of the Center Mrs. Andrea Robinson as we’ve been doing since 2020

How will the project celebrate the neighborhood’s diversity? Diversity can include different ages, races, cultures, socio-economic statuses, abilities, and more.

The project will provide school supplies to a diverse range of ethnicities and age groups i.e. Black, White, Mexican ages 5 – 18 years of age within the community we serve.

How do you plan to spend the $1,000 microgrant? Please list and explain the items, services, fees, expertise, etc. that you plan to purchase.

$1k will be used to assist with funds needed to purchase the school supplies given to the community.

ABOUT YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD’S NEEDS

Why does your neighborhood need this project?

It’s necessary for the community to have this project to assist family’s with providing a much needed education to those who can’t afford this items for school.

What do you hope to achieve through this project? Be as specific as possible!

MDCC has done this project for 4 years straight and have achieved the goal of providing the necessary tools to the youth within the Detroit Metro area to assist with getting a good eduction.

What resources do you already have to make this project successful? Resources could include things like time, partners, expertise, donated goods/materials/space, matching funds, and more.

The tools we already have are a commited organization that’s been parterning with the center for 4 years with material’s purchased by MDCC, we have the expertise because we have the experience and know how of informing the community of this event which the community is already excited and expects each year.
